With Valentine’s Day fast approaching (and it’s pretty impossible to avoid isn’t it?), everywhere you turn, you see hearts, hearts and more hearts! I was curious to find out how much love is in the air at mso (if any) and what our thoughts were on this historical day which dates back to the 5th century and is celebrated by many countries around the world.

Having sent a poll round to everyone, I was surprised with the results – a near equal divide. Reassuringly, 45% of the team think the day is an excellent opportunity to showed loved ones they care, 10% think it’s a necessary evil to keep the peace and 45% think that the day is made up and refuse to play along.

So although the office may not be filled with love heart balloons and Valentine’s Day cupcakes, here are a few tips from our romantic mso-lovers who will be celebrating this Valentine’s Day with their significant other…

  1. Prepare for the day early – don’t leave it until Saturday to book a reservation!
  2. Shop now for food if you wish to make a home cooked meal
  3. Don’t turn up late for a reservation
  4. Resist the urge to look at your phone during your Valentine’s date
