Epitomising the term ‘part of the furniture’ is our very own Creative Director, George Broom, who is celebrating a monumental milestone of 15 years at mso.
To celebrate, we’ve asked George to take a trip down memory lane to find out more about his journey with mso and what he has enjoyed most over the years.
Let’s take it right back to the start, what was your first role at mso?
I started as a Junior Web Developer.
Can you remember what made you first apply for the role?
I didn’t actually apply to work with mso, but my CV was passed on to mso via a client at the time. They thought I was better suited to a role within mso and the rest is history!
Do you remember what your first day was like?
It was a little nerve-wracking, this was my first office based job, but everyone made me feel really welcome.
How has your role changed over the years?
It’s evolved quite dramatically over the years. From Junior Web Developer to Senior Developer and now Creative Director. With each new role comes a new set of challenges, but my passion for what we do has only gotten stronger.
What has been your biggest achievement to date?
Definitely being able to work with clients all over the world.
What is your favourite part about your role?
It has always been the fulfilment that you get from creating something from scratch that adds value to other people/businesses.
Do you have a favourite project that you have worked on?
I could never choose a favourite.
So you must have a favourite memory from the last fifteen years?
It would have to be entertaining mso clients at Silverstone for the Formula 1 qualifiers in 2019.
What have you gained from working at mso?
An ability to be fearless, when it comes to digital there’s nothing that we can’t design or build.
What are you most looking forward to in the future?
The launch of the new mso website. Watch this space!
Which three 3 words would you use to describe mso?
Creative. Consultative. Caring.
So, tell us more about George Broom the person. If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
I don’t think I’d want to be famous. I’d rather create something and enjoy the fact that I know I helped create it.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Listen first, always speak last.
What is one thing we don’t know about you?
I am a huge classic car enthusiast and own two classic Volkswagen Beetles.
On behalf of everyone at mso, we would like to congratulate George on his fifteen year work anniversary.
Here’s to another 15 more years!
